Educación, ritmo, y TIC.

Las nuevas tecnologías de la información (TIC) abren un abanico de posibilidades en la educación.  La creación de las dos modalidades de educación, presencial y virtual, ya es un hecho que inquieta a los pedagogos. Pero lo es más, pienso, el hecho de implementar las TIC en el salón de clase, como apoyo de espacios presenciales.

La educación apoyada en TIC presenta nuevos retos para docentes y para estudiantes. A continuación me permito presentar uno de ellos: el ritmo.

En el aula tradicional el ritmo de la clase está a cargo del docente. Es él quien decide hasta qué punto dicta un tema, que tanto profundiza, que cambia, que acelera o qué retiene, o niega al estudiante.  En las cuatro paredes se corre tanto como el profesor corra. Claro, hay que decir que algunos caminan, y otros están detenidos. Nada más cruel que estar en una clase tan monótona que lo único que rompe la rutina es el segundero del reloj.

Así las cosas, el estudiante se acostumbra a tener y a llevar el ritmo del profesor.  Dicha dependencia  ha generado un gran problema en los estudiantes de este siglo: no hacen más de lo que se les pide, no leen un documento que sea obligatorio, no hacen una consulta si el profesor no les dice que la deben hacer. Terminan por ser tan buenos como  su maestro.

La implementación de las TIC en la educación  modifica el ritmo y modifica  el portador del ritmo. Las TIC le dan poder el estudiante (por eso muchos profesores prefieren no utilizarlas).  Cuando un estudiantes aprende a usar las TIC para la construcción de su conocimiento, tiene en las manos el ritmo de su aprendizaje, él decide qué estudiar, que aprender, que transformar.

El tema es que los estudiantes, como vienen enseñados a no llevar el ritmo, cuando tienen la responsabilidad de decidir su aprendizaje se quedan quietos, se detienen; no investigan por sus medios, no escriben porque no es obligación, no profundizan. Si los estudiantes de dieran cuenta del potencial de las TIC, comprobarían que sus profesores no son tan buenos como ellos creen .

La implementación de las TIC exige que los estudiantes sepan cómo desarrollar su propio ritmo. Los profesores estamos en la obligación de orientar a los estudiantes en el desarrollo de su autonomía rítmica  de aprendizaje. Al final, serán ellos lo que se enfrenten a nuevos retos durante el resto de su vida.

Las TIC en educación va mucho más allá de hacer una presentación en Prezi. Las TIC en educación requieren nuevos usuarios  conscientes que todo lo pueden aprender, siempre y cuando, tengan, desarrollen,  y sostengan el ritmo de su propio aprendizaje.

  29. I don’t know if it’s just me or if everybody else encountering issues
    with your site. It appears as though some of the written text in your posts are
